Early Morning Incident on the Cuckoo Trail
Sussex Police arrested an 18-year-old Polegate man after reports of public exposure on the busy Cuckoo Trail walking and cycling path. The shocking incident occurred between 6:30am and 8am on Tuesday, 10 March.
Swift Police Action and Ongoing Investigation
Officers quickly responded to the reports, identified, and arrested the suspect on suspicion of exposure. He has since been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue. Police are gathering further evidence, including CCTV footage from the area.
Community Safety Boosted
Chief Inspector Kara Tombling acknowledged the community’s concerns and confirmed increased patrols along the trail and surrounding spots. “Keeping the community safe remains a top priority,” she said, promising a continued visible police presence during the investigation.
