Johnny Somali’s wild ride in South Korea is about to hit a brick wall. The US live-streamer, notorious for rudeness and obnoxious antics, thought he could get away with his behaviour in the country. He was wrong – badly wrong.
Johnny Somali Faces Prison Over Shocking Online Stunts
The 25-year-old streamer, real name Ramsey Khalid Ismael, is now staring down certain jail time for his disrespectful conduct over the past few years. South Koreans have had enough.
Serious Charges: Deepfake Sex Tape Sparks Outrage
- Four counts of interfering with business
- Two breaches of the Minor Crimes Act
- Two sexual violence charges linked to AI-generated deepfake videos
His biggest crime? Creating a deepfake video that showed popular Korean streamer BongBong having sex with him. South Korea clamps down hard on digital sex crimes, banning not just creating but even possessing or viewing deepfake porn.
Leniency Plea Falls on Deaf Ears
Johnny Somali’s mum has begged the South Korean court for mercy ahead of his sentencing on 15 April 2026. She apologised for her son’s actions, but legal experts say it’s unlikely to sway the judge given his record.
Somali himself pleaded ignorance of the law and blamed alcohol for his reckless behaviour. Even so, prosecutors want him locked up for three years with hard labour, slapped with a $100 fine, and branded a sex offender for five years.
Public Fury and Violence
Before the law caught up, Johnny Somali was already getting roughed up on the streets by furious locals.
“Watching Johnny Somali getting dropped fills my heart with joy 🥰” – @kekzensky
“Johnny Somali finally getting his ass handed to him. Finally 🤣👍🏼” – @ScummyMummy511
If the public’s wrath is any indication, prison won’t be any kinder to the notorious streamer.
