Man Arrested After Scissors Attack at Newham Hospital

A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) following a stabbing at Newham University Hospital in east London.

Hospital Worker Stabbed in Early Hours

Police were called to the scene at 12:30am on Wednesday, 12 June, after reports of a stabbing. The victim, a 50-year-old hospital staff member, suffered multiple stab wounds from a pair of scissors.

Fortunately, her injuries have been deemed non-life threatening.

Suspect in Custody as Police Investigate

The suspect was arrested at the scene and is currently being questioned at a local police station. Authorities say there are no other reported injuries linked to the incident.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Officers are continuing their enquiries and urge anyone with information to come forward. Call police on 101 quoting CRIS 163/12 June.
