Counter-Terror Police Storm Massage Parlour
Counter-terror officers swooped on a business in Bury this afternoon after a suspect threatened people with a bladed weapon near a childcare centre.
Specialist police teams and undercover vehicles flooded the scene, sparking panic among local residents on Stand Lane in Radcliffe.
Officers were seen pointing guns at the Sunflower Massage parlour as they worked to contain the threat.
Children Evacuated as Drama Unfolds
Youngsters from a nearby nursery and school were quickly escorted out to waiting parents by police and staff, ensuring their safety as tense scenes played out.
Suspect Arrested After Standoff
Frieda Ehsan, the landlady of the massage business, revealed she got a call from her tenant urging her to ring 999 after a man with a blade entered the shop.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson confirmed:
“We responded to an incident on Stand Lane, Radcliffe around 2:15pm following reports of threats involving a bladed weapon. Those at the address managed to reach safety and called us. Our negotiators engaged with the suspect inside the property.”
“A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of making threats with a bladed article and remains in custody for questioning.”
“This was an isolated incident and we can confirm it is not being treated as counter-terror related.”
The community has been left shaken, but relief is growing as police bring the incident to a safe conclusion.
