Three men arrested over failed arson attempt at Persian media offices in north-west London. The drama unfolded at around 8:30pm on Wednesday, 15 April, when police on patrol were alerted to a flaming container hurled towards the building.
Fire Fizzles Out in Car Park
The incendiary device landed harmlessly in a nearby car park, where the flames quickly died out. No injuries or damage were reported, but police launched an urgent manhunt.
High-Speed Chase Ends in Crash
Officers traced the suspects fleeing the scene in a black SUV. An Armed Response Vehicle gave chase after the driver ignored stop signals. The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed on Ballards Lane near Woodberry Gardens, N12.
Three Suspects in Custody
- A 16-year-old boy
- Two men aged 19 and 21
All three were arrested on suspicion of arson endangering life and remain in custody.
Police Rule Out Terror Connection
Nearby buildings were evacuated as a precaution, but police quickly confirmed there was no wider threat. Although the incident falls under Counter Terrorism Policing London’s investigation, it’s not linked to recent arson attacks in Finchley or Golders Green.
