A 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder following a savage assault on a 13-year-old girl in Woodthorpe, Nottinghamshire. The young victim suffered “serious injuries” and is currently stable in the hospital.

Attack Near Wensley Road

Emergency services rushed to the scene near Wensley Road just before 4pm on Friday. The girl was immediately taken to the hospital, with police describing her condition as stable but serious.

Suspect Faces Multiple Charges

The teenage suspect—who cannot be named due to legal restrictions—is set to appear at Nottingham Youth Court today. He has also been charged with carrying a bladed article.

“Officers are supporting the victim and her family through this traumatic incident,” said Superintendent James Woolley, who oversees county policing. “We understand the impact an incident like this will have on the local community. I want to reassure the public that we are doing everything we can to uncover the circumstances that led to this attack.”

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Police urge anyone with information to come forward. Those who haven’t spoken to officers are asked to call 101, quoting incident number 532 of April 17. Alternatively, people can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
