Closure Order Slams Down on Troublesome Herne Bay Flat Amid Antisocial Havoc Local cops have slammed the shutters on a Herne Bay flat after months of relentless antisocial chaos scared residents stiff. The flat on Beacon Road became a hotbed of suspected drug use, dealing, and volatile behaviour, leaving neighbours fearing for their safety.

Six Months of Mayhem

  • Officers were repeatedly called to the flat over the past six months following countless complaints.
  • Residents and visitors reported drug activity and aggressive conduct inside the premises.
  • Many locals felt so threatened they couldn’t sleep or feel safe at home.
  • Some were forced to flee temporarily, bunking with friends or checking into hotels to escape the turmoil.

Police Take a Stand

Working closely with the community and property managers, officers gathered the evidence needed to act. On Thursday 23 April 2026, Kent Police secured a closure order at Margate Magistrates’ Court. The order bans anyone except emergency or social services from entering the flat for three months. Officers now have the power to arrest anyone trying to access the property within this period.

Flats Cleared and Secured

The troublesome tenants have been removed and the property is now firmly locked down.

PC Christopher Green said: “Removing problem properties like this shows our commitment to stamping out antisocial behaviour in Herne Bay. No one should have to tolerate this level of disorder from a neighbour.” “I’m pleased we’ve taken firm, decisive action to protect the community.”
