Ilford Murder Victim Named: Dad-of-Four Lee Baxter Dead After Stabbing
Detectives have identified the victim of a brutal stabbing in Ilford as 34-year-old Lee Baxter, a father of four. The shocking attack took place on Friday, 9 October, on Southdown Crescent, IG2.
Tragic Stabbing in Ilford Alleyway
Police were called just before 9.30pm to reports of an assault. Officers found Lee with multiple stab wounds and rushed to give first aid. Despite their efforts and those of the London Ambulance Service, Lee was pronounced dead at the scene at 10.33pm.
Police Hunt Gang After Fatal Fight
Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command say Lee was attacked in an alley following a heated argument. A group of men allegedly stabbed him before fleeing. An extensive manhunt is underway as officers investigate every lead.
“My thoughts are with Lee’s family, especially his children, at this sad time,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Stephen Clayman, East Area Borough Commander. “We know this will concern the community. A dedicated team is working tirelessly to catch those responsible. Local officers are out on patrol and encourage anyone with concerns to come forward.”
