Eleven Held in Frankfurt Terror Raids to Stop Deadly Attack
German cops have swooped on 11 terror suspects in Frankfurt, foiling a sinister plot to launch a brutal Islamist attack using cars and guns to kill as many as possible.
200 Officers Stage Massive Raids Across Frankfurt Region
The arrests followed a huge police operation involving 200 officers raiding locations across Frankfurt, Offenbach, Wiesbaden, and Mainz. Prosecutors confirmed ten suspects are the focus of the investigation, aged between 20 and 42.
“Police intervened in a timely manner to prevent possible attack plans at an early stage,” said Hesse’s state interior minister Peter Beuth.
Main Suspects Linked to Local Salafist Islamist Circle
The prime suspects are a 21-year-old man from Offenbach, plus two 31-year-old brothers from Wiesbaden. All three belong to the local Islamist Salafist community and hold German citizenship.
