Tragic Death of Five-Year-Old in Earlsdon: Boy Dies from Stab Wound
Police discovered a five-year-old boy with serious injuries at a home on Poplar Road, Earlsdon, just before 6pm on Tuesday. Despite efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem confirmed the cause of death was a stab wound.
Heartbroken Parents Pay Tribute
His devastated parents, Cristina and Dorinel, said: “Our son was the most beautiful child in the world. He was a very happy boy, always smiling from morning till night. He had endless energy, loved to dance and sing. He is all of our hearts, all our love, and everything to both of us.”
Suspect in Custody and Under Mental Health Care
A 49-year-old woman, known to the family and caring for David-Mario at the time, has been arrested on suspicion of his murder. She has been detained under the Mental Health Act. The property remains sealed off as forensic teams carry out a thorough investigation.
Police Appeal for Respect and Condolences
Superintendent Ronan Tyrer of coventry/" title="Coventry" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Coventry Police said:
“Our investigation continues into the desperately sad death of David-Mario. Our specialist officers are supporting his parents, and we cannot comprehend the grief they must feel. Our thoughts are with them.”
David-Mario’s school has been notified and is contacting parents and carers. The community remains shocked and saddened by the tragedy. Police urge people to avoid speculation on social media or sharing unverified posts that could cause further distress to the family.
