Cyclist left fighting for life after hit-and-run near Pype Hayes Park
A 45-year-old man was knocked off his bike while walking his dog on Chester Road, close to the pedestrian crossing by Pype Hayes Park. The driver slammed into him before speeding off along Eachelhurst Road, leaving the cyclist critically injured.
Hit-and-Run Shocker
The biker was passing the crossing opposite Marshbrook Road when the car struck him. The driver briefly stopped but then fled the scene, leaving the seriously injured man lying in the road.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes said: “The driver originally halted at the scene before speeding off, leaving the rider gravely injured. Several cars and members of the public rushed to help. Some witnesses may have seen the driver before he fled. We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
