High-Speed Chase on M4 Ends in Arrest Near Reading
Police launched a high-speed pursuit on the M4 eastbound near junction 16 at around 10.30pm yesterday (09/04). The chase began after concerns over the driver’s dangerous behaviour and refusal to stop for officers.
Suspect Stopped at Junction 12 After Tactical Maneuver
The driver sped off towards junction 12 near Theale, Reading, where police executed a tactical stop to bring the vehicle to a halt. The suspect then bolted on foot but was quickly caught thanks to police dog Conan.
Swansea Man Busted for Dangerous Driving and Drugs
The arrested man, in his 30s from Swansea, faces multiple charges including:
- Dangerous driving
- Failing to stop for police
- Driving without insurance
- Driving not in accordance with licence
After failing a roadside drug test, he was also charged with driving under the influence of cocaine.
Suspect Held in Custody for Questioning
The man remains in police custody as officers continue their investigation.
