Nine-Year-Old Boy Airlifted After Brutal Dog Attack in Canterbury

A nine-year-old boy was flown to a London hospital after being viciously bitten multiple times by a dog in Canterbury. The child, who is related to the dog owner’s partner, is now in critical condition.

Police and Armed Officers Rush to Scene

Kent Police, backed by armed officers, rushed to Orchard Flats on Cumberland Avenue just before 3pm last Sunday following reports of the attack. Paramedics treated the boy at the scene before airlifting him to a specialist hospital in London. He has since been transferred to a second specialist centre, according to his distraught aunt who witnessed the horror and tried to pull the dog away.

Dog Owner’s Partner Arrested, Dog Seized

The man arrested is the partner of the woman whose family member was attacked. Police seized the dog, said to be a French Bull Bullmastiff. The partner was held as he was responsible for the dog. The family had planned to take the dog for a walk shortly before the attack occurred.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
