Stolen Van Chase Ends in Arrests on Nottinghamshire Roads

Nottinghamshire Police’s Road Crime Team launched a high-speed chase after spotting a suspected stolen van tearing through Giltbrook at 8.40pm on Friday, 31 March 2023.

Dangerous Driving Sparks Police Pursuit

The van was seen driving on the wrong side of the road and speeding. The driver made a sudden U-turn and headed back towards the A610 roundabout. Despite wet road conditions, the vehicle continued to be driven recklessly.

When the van refused to stop, officers gave the green light for a pursuit. The team worked together to bring the van to a halt using tactical contact.

Three Men Arrested Over Stolen Vehicle

Police detained three men at the scene, aged 28, 29, and 46. Checks revealed the van had been stolen on 21 March 2023.

The suspects were arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle theft and driving offences.

Detective Sergeant Franco Guddemi said: “This positive result was thanks to a great team effort and highlights our determination to keep people safe by stopping vehicles believed to be involved in criminality.

“Proactive policing of the roads is a vital component in combatting crime and we will continue to do everything in our power to pursue and catch those suspected to be involved in crime.”
