Surrey Cop Bags Queen’s Police Medal for 22 Years on the Beat
Guildford-based Police Constable Simon Fahey has been honoured in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list. The veteran officer, with 22 years under his belt, has scooped the prestigious Queen’s Police Medal for his dedicated service to Surrey Police.
Hero on the Frontline and Beyond
PC Fahey has spent most of his career as a frontline response officer. But he’s no one-trick pony. He’s also worked with the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Interceptor Team and served as a Source Handler in the Intelligence Team.
His bravery and skill have earned him multiple accolades, including the Royal Humane Society medal for saving a life in 2018, as well as several Chief Constable Commendations.
Collar Number Matches Arrest Count – Impressive Feat!
In a remarkable stat, PC Fahey has arrested the same number of suspects as his collar number. One standout case was in 2005 when he nabbed a man for theft. Although the suspect had no criminal record, DNA samples taken by PC Fahey led to the conviction of a notorious sex offender wanted for attacks between 1989 and 1996.
PC Fahey’s fearless work continues to make Surrey streets safer and commands respect across the force.
