Sergeant Charged with Historic Indecent Assault on Girl Under 14
Thames Valley Police have rocked the force by charging a serving officer with a disturbing historic crime.
Officer Arrested for 1991 Oxford Assault
James Chapman, 43, a sergeant in West Berkshire Local Policing Area, was arrested back on 17 September last year. Today (17 April), he was formally charged with indecent assault on a girl under 14 from an incident dating back to 1991 at a property in Oxford.
Court Date Set for May
Chapman is scheduled to appear before Oxford Magistrates’ Court on 21 May to face the charges.
