Teen Dies After Shocking Miles Platting Stabbing
A murder probe is underway after a 15-year-old boy died following a brutal stabbing attack on a mother and son in Miles Platting last night.
Mother and Son Attacked at Bednal Avenue
Emergency services raced to a home on Bednal Avenue around 9.30pm after North West Ambulance Service alerted police. The teenage boy was found with serious stab wounds and rushed to hospital, where he died about an hour later.
His mother, a woman in her forties, was also stabbed and taken to hospital in a stable condition. Specially trained officers are supporting the family through this heart-wrenching ordeal.
Suspect Arrested in Kent
Police arrested a 44-year-old Manchester man in Kent on suspicion of murder. He is believed to be known to the victims.
“Last night’s attack has left a community reeling and a family coming to terms with what was an absolutely devastating incident for everyone involved,” said Detective Chief Inspector Alicia Smith of GMP’s Major Incident Team.
“A teenage boy with his entire life ahead of him tragically lost his life. His mother is grieving and recovering from what must have been a traumatic experience. Our thoughts are with the family, and we are fully committed to uncovering the truth.”
“Detectives have worked around the clock since the attack and making an arrest is a huge step towards giving the family answers.”
