Tulisa Shocks I’m A Celeb Fans By Revealing She’s Demisexual
ITV viewers were left stunned during Tuesday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! when N-Dubz singer and former X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos openly shared she identifies as demisexual.
Tulisa Opens Up on Love and Celibacy
In a heartfelt chat with Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough and Coronation Street star Alan Halsall, the 36-year-old got real about relationships and what she truly needs from a partner.
“I feel like I’m demisexual,” Tulisa confessed. “I need to have a really close emotional bond with someone. I need actual depth… I’m a slow, slow burner. I’ve been celibate for over three years.”
She explained, “I’m not an overly sexualised person. For me, it’s all about the connection and the emotions that I feel with someone and then wanting to express them in that way.”
Tulisa also revealed she tried the exclusive dating app Raya but admitted it never led to a meet-up. “I’m not really a dater,” she admitted, describing herself as “properly guarded” in love.
Alan Halsall cracked a joke, likening her guarded heart to a Bushtucker Trial: “It sounds like a Bushtucker Trial where you’ve got to find ‘a key to Tulisa’s temple.’”
Viewers Praise Tulisa’s Honesty
Social media was buzzing as fans admired Tulisa’s honesty.
- “Tulisa discussing demisexuality on I’m A Celeb—I just got a little emotional,” said one viewer.
- Another commented, “Tulisa talking about demisexuality on I’m A Celeb was not on my 2024 bingo card.”
- “Loving these convos on I’m A Celeb—Barry talking about grieving, Grace coming out, and Tulisa just generally having a heart of gold,” added a third fan.
What Is Demisexuality?
Demisexuality means you only feel sexual attraction after forming a strong emotional bond. Demisexual people can identify as gay, straight, bisexual, or other orientations. Their gender identity isn’t limited by this.
Tulisa Spills The Beans On N-Dubz Name
The singer also dropped a surprise about her band’s name. Talking with Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse, Tulisa revealed N-Dubz stands for “North West London,” where the group hails from.
Mabuse, also from North West London, joked she should be part of N-Dubz too, sparking laughs in camp.
Fans at home were equally wowed. One wrote, “N-Dubz meaning NW was brand new information to me! Every day really is a school day.”
Tulisa’s raw honesty and cheeky humour have won over both campmates and viewers, giving her journey on I’m A Celebrity a fresh, heartfelt twist.
