Two Young Boys Found Dead in Dagenham Home

Emergency services were called to a Dagenham house on Cornwallis Road at around 2pm on Friday, 16 December. Inside, they found the bodies of two young boys – a two-year-old and a five-year-old – both pronounced dead at the scene.

Arrests Made After Tragic Discovery

Police quickly arrested a woman and a man following a disturbance nearby. Both remain in custody, and were known to the children. The tragic deaths have sparked a major investigation by the Met’s East Area BCU and Specialist Crime teams.

Investigation Underway as Police Appeal for Information

Detective Inspector Sean Treweek said: “This is clearly an extremely distressing incident with many unanswered questions. At this early stage, no one else is being sought in connection with the deaths.

“I thank local residents for their help as officers and partner agencies work to understand the full circumstances of this tragedy. Additional officers will be in the area, and anyone with information or concerns is urged to come forward.”

Police cordons remain in place while enquiries continue. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference CAD 3408/16dec.
