Woman in Her 70s Dies in Whitemoor House Fire

Tragedy struck in Nottingham today when a woman in her 70s died in a house fire on Tintern Drive, Whitemoor. Emergency services were called at 1.28pm on Monday 12 December 2022 after reports of the blaze.

Neighbours Evacuated as Firefighters Tackle Blaze

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution while firefighters worked to put out the flames.

Investigation Underway, No Suspicion of Foul Play

Inspector Richard Markham of Nottinghamshire Police said the death is “not currently being treated as suspicious.” Formal identification will be completed soon, and a file will be sent to the coroner.

“Our deepest condolences are with her family and friends at this difficult time who are being supported by specialist officers,” Inspector Markham added.

Group Manager Chris Clark of Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service also expressed sympathy, saying: “The fire has been extinguished, and an investigation into the cause is underway. Our thoughts are with the woman’s family.”
