Armed Cops Surround Man on Ashford High Street Over Gun Scare
Chaos erupted in Ashford town centre yesterday morning when armed Kent Police swooped in on a man spotted with a gun.
Officers were called at 10:50am on Sunday, May 28, after reports of a man carrying a firearm on the busy High Street.
Local Man Arrested for Imitation Firearm
A 44-year-old local man was quickly arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation gun. He is currently in custody, awaiting questioning.
Police have reassured the public that the situation was brought under control swiftly and no one was harmed.
