Woman Assaulted in Eastbourne Park – Police Hunt Witnesses

Police are on the lookout for witnesses after a 63-year-old woman was attacked in Hampden Park, Eastbourne.

The assault happened between 2.20pm and 2.30pm on Saturday, February 25, near Decoy Drive. A man, unknown to the victim, approached and assaulted her.

Thankfully, the woman escaped serious injury and is now being supported by specially trained officers.

Man in Custody Following Attack

Detective Inspector Andrew Nicklin said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim, who is cooperating with our investigation.”

He urged anyone who was in the park or on the footpath near Decoy Drive at the time to come forward. “We want to hear from anyone who saw anything.”

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody.
