Brutal Hate Crime Shakes Bristol: CCTV Image Released
Police in Bristol have launched a hunt for a man caught on CCTV after a shocking hate crime at Turtle Bay on Cheltenham Road, Montpelier. A man in his twenties was targeted with vicious homophobic and transphobic slurs before being physically attacked. The brutal assault happened around 3.30pm on Saturday, July 29, leaving the victim seriously injured and needing hospital care.
Suspect Description
The suspect is described as white, late teens to early twenties, about 5ft 10ins tall, with a medium build. He has medium-length brown hair, shaved on the sides with longer hair on top. At the time, he wore blue jeans and a black t-shirt.
Police Appeal: Identifying the Attacker
“This was a vicious and unprovoked assault which, due to the language used by the offender, is being treated as a hate crime. This is a worrying incident, and we’re ensuring the victim gets any support he may need,” said PC Matthew Lawson, leading the investigation.
PC Lawson added: “We urge anyone who recognises this man or witnessed the incident, or even filmed it, to come forward.”
