A major house fire has broken out on Douglas Road, Lenham, near Maidstone, with four fire engines battling the blaze.
Smoke Chokes Local Area – Keep Doors and Windows Shut
The Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene at 7:53pm. Although no injuries have been reported, thick smoke is blanketing the neighbourhood.
“Crews are advising people living or travelling in Lenham, Maidstone, to keep windows and doors closed due to heavy smoke coming from a fire on Douglas Road,” a fire service spokesperson confirmed.
Cause Still a Mystery – Firefighters Brace for Long Battle
The origin of the fire is currently unknown. Firefighters are expected to be on-site for several hours, working hard to bring the flames under control.
