Man Fatally Shot in Croydon Early Saturday

Police were called just before 5am on Saturday, 2 October, after reports of a shooting on Birdhurst Road, Croydon. Emergency services raced to the scene, but sadly, a 35-year-old man was pronounced dead.

Murder Investigation Underway

Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin of Specialist Crime has launched a murder probe. She appealed to anyone who might have been at a nearby party that ran into the early hours to come forward.

“My thoughts are with the victim’s family, who are being supported by specialist officers,” said DCI Goodwin.

“We believe the victim attended a party near the scene prior to the shooting. Even if you think you didn’t see anything important, please contact us.”

“We also want to hear from any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage.”

No Arrests Yet – Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up

There have been no arrests so far. Police are keen to gather information and appeal for any relevant footage or tips.

The victim’s next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem will be arranged. Police enquiries remain ongoing.
