Daylight Horror on Chippenham Road: Woman Stabbed, Man Struck by Car – Both Dead
Police rushed to Chippenham Road, W9 just after 9am on Monday, 24 January following a shocking stabbing. On arrival, officers, along with London Ambulance and Fire Brigade teams, found a 43-year-old woman with stab wounds and a 41-year-old man who had been hit by a car. Tragically, both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Man Arrested Over Terrifying Broad Daylight Attack
A 26-year-old man, who was driving the vehicle involved in the incident, was arrested on suspicion of murder. Detective Chief Inspector Jim Eastwood from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said:
“This was a terrible incident that occurred in broad daylight on a busy London street. A number of members of the public bravely tried to intervene to stop the attack.”
He added there appears to be no link between the arrested man and the victims and confirmed no one else is currently being sought in connection with the case.
Investigation Underway – Public Help Needed
Detectives believe the victims knew each other. Post-mortem exams will take place soon. Officers urge the public to refrain from speculation while inquiries continue.
DCI Eastwood appealed for witnesses:
“A number of people have already come forward, but we are still asking for anyone to contact us. Any information could be vital in helping us understand why this dreadful incident happened.”
