Shock in Sheffield: Woman Found Dead in Home
Police forced their way into a house in Skelton Close, Sheffield, shortly after 8am on Monday and found a woman’s body inside. Detectives are treating her death as suspicious.
Investigation Underway
The woman has not yet been formally identified. A post-mortem examination will take place in the coming days to uncover the cause of death. Detective Chief Inspector Andy Knowles, leading the probe, said officers have been busy around Skelton Close gathering evidence.
“There’s been a heightened police presence in and around Skelton Close while we’ve completed enquiries at the scene to understand the circumstances surrounding this woman’s death,” said DCI Knowles.
Police Appeal to Locals
DCI Knowles urged anyone living nearby to come forward if they noticed anything out of the ordinary in the past weeks.
“We want to build as full a picture as possible, so if you have seen, heard or noticed anything suspicious, please get in touch. News like this always shocks the community, and police will remain visible in the area while inquiries continue.”
