Swindon Drug Driver Banned for Three Years After Being Caught Red-Handed
Caught on Cricklade Road
Craig Deyager, 35, from Affleck Close, Toothill, Swindon, has been hit with a three-year driving ban and a fine after police stopped him for drug driving. The Skoda Fabia he was driving raised suspicions on the night of June 3 last year, as it sped from Cricklade Road to Stokesay Drive. Officers found his driving so erratic they pulled him over for testing.
Positive Drug Test and Cannabis Found
A roadside drug test came back positive. Upon arrest, police discovered a stash of cannabis in Deyager’s trouser pocket. He was taken to Gablecross Police Station and later pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs and possession of cannabis at Swindon Magistrates’ Court.
Police Warn of Dangers Behind the Wheel
PC Luke Hobbs of the Roads Policing Unit warned, “Driving under the influence impairs your vision and slows your reaction time. It hugely increases the risk of collisions, serious injuries, or worse.”
He added, “Deyager knowingly put lives at risk that evening. We’re glad to see the tough ban imposed.”
