Man arrested over brutal stabbing murder in Northumberland Park
Suspect in custody after fatal stabbing
A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murdering Okechukwu Iweha on Wednesday, 10 April. He remains held while police continue their investigation.
Early hours stabbing shocks Enfield community
Police were called to Northumberland Park, N17, at 5:51am on Sunday, 7 April after a man was found unresponsive at the scene of an illegal rave. Officers, alongside London Ambulance Service paramedics, discovered 46-year-old Okechukwu Iweha suffering multiple stab wounds.
Despite emergency crews administering CPR, Okechukwu sadly died at the scene.
Police urge public to come forward
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, from the Specialist Crime Command, said: “Our investigation is making good progress but I urge anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious to come forward. If you were woken by any disturbance or captured anything on dash cam or private CCTV, please get in touch.”
Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, leading policing in Haringey, added: “Our thoughts are with Okechukwu’s family as they come to terms with this violent loss. We are working round the clock on the investigation and thank local residents for their patience as forensic work continues.”
