Two Men Found Dead in Ilford Stabbing Incident
A 51-year-old man was arrested in Hackney shortly after 4am on Monday, 11 January, following a deadly stabbing in Ilford. He is now in police custody.
Fatal Stabbing Shakes Tavistock Gardens
Police launched a murder probe after being called to Tavistock Gardens at 4.24am on Sunday, 10 January, following reports of a disturbance. Two men, aged 43 and 45, were found with stab wounds.
Sadly, despite paramedics’ efforts, both men were pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are working to identify the victims and notify their next of kin.
Woman Arrested After Taser Used at Scene
A 28-year-old woman was also found injured and was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. During her arrest, police discharged a Taser. She received hospital treatment before being taken into custody and has since been released under investigation.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
The Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the investigation to uncover the full circumstances, including how the victims and suspect were connected. A crime scene remains in place.
Detective Chief Inspector Perry Benton said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the Tavistock Gardens area in the early hours of Sunday, 10 January, who hasn’t already spoken to police.
“We have made two arrests as part of a fast-paced investigation that is piecing together how these two men died.”
“Anyone who knew the victims or has information about the sequence of events should come forward.”
