Teenager Murdered in Brent: Police Hunt Key Witnesses and Car Linked to Killing

Detectives are urgently appealing for help after 16-year-old Drekwon Patterson was fatally stabbed in Brent. Officers want information about a suspicious car and a van driver seen near the scene of the attack.

Black Ford Mondeo at Centre of Murder Investigation

Police were called to preston/" title="Preston" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Preston Road just after 11:30pm on Thursday, 18 February, where Drekwon was found with stab wounds. Despite emergency efforts, he died before 9am the following day.

Detectives revealed a black Ford Mondeo, registration YR54 NHN, was caught on CCTV leaving the scene. The vehicle was later found burnt out in Silver Jubilee Park, NW9, on Friday, 19 February.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard said: “We believe the Mondeo was used in an initial collision attempt to injure Drekwon. After he ran, four suspects chased him before fatally stabbing him.”

DCI Leonard urged locals to come forward if they noticed the large, old Mondeo around the area in the days leading up to the murder, or saw anyone acting suspiciously with the car.

Van Driver Could Hold Vital Clue

Police are also seeking a van driver who stopped briefly near the crime scene and may have witnessed crucial events. CCTV images of the van and the Ford Mondeo have been released as part of the ongoing enquiry.

No arrests have been made yet. The Met’s North West Command Unit is patrolling the area, urging residents to share any concerns or information.
