Woman Brutally Attacked in East Dulwich – Police Hunt Suspect
Detectives are urgently seeking information to identify a man after a shocking unprovoked attack on a young woman in East Dulwich. The assault took place around 4:45 PM on Monday, 25 August, on Lordship Lane, SE22.
Victim Suffers Broken Jaw in Random Assault
Police found the woman, in her 20s, with serious facial injuries at the scene. She was treated by paramedics and rushed to hospital, where medics confirmed she had a broken jaw. Officers say she is now being supported by police as they launch their investigation.
Suspect Description Released
Witnesses report the attacker approached the woman while she was alone, verbally abusing her before striking her in the face without warning. The suspect is described as a Black man aged 30-40, balding, and dressed in dark clothes.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
Detective Constable Charlotte Kerr, leading the case, said: “We are working hard to find the person responsible for this senseless attack. Our increased neighbourhood policing aims to reassure women and girls in the area.”
Police are appealing to anyone who was near the junction of Lordship Lane and Grove around 4:45 PM on 25 August to come forward. Even the smallest detail could prove vital.
