Emergency services rushed to Beresford Street in Woolwich last night after reports of a car engulfed in flames. The incident occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 31.

London Ambulance Service (LAS) responded swiftly, with the first crews arriving at the scene within two minutes. Resources, including the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and an incident response officer, were deployed to offer assistance. However, no injuries were reported, and the LAS was later stood down after determining that no one required medical attention.

A video shared on social media platform X shows the dramatic scene, with the vehicle completely engulfed in flames, while ambulances and paramedics can be seen nearby.

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service provided a statement: “We were called at 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, to reports of a vehicle fire in Beresford Street, Woolwich. We sent resources to the scene, including members of our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and an incident response officer. The first of our crews arrived in two minutes. Our crews supported emergency services at the scene, but we were later stood down when it was determined no patients at the scene required our care.”

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and the UKNIP has reached out to the London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police for further information regarding the incident. As of now, no further details have been released.
