The man whose kayak flipped in the River Wey, Guildford, yesterday afternoon has been identified as 56-year-old Grant Broster. The family confirmed the news.

Grant’s wife, Rachel, said he was using their family kayak when it capsized. “He had not seen the flood warnings,” she revealed.

Their son bravely jumped into the water to help but was quickly pulled to safety.
