Blaze Breaks Out in Brighton Roof

On November 14, 2023, chaos hit a Brighton neighbourhood when a fire erupted in the roof of a house on Hawkhurst Road. The East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called at 3:03pm, sparking a swift emergency response.

By 3:25pm, six fire engines, an aerial ladder platform, and several officers were battling the flames. Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and fought hard to control the blaze. The surrounding area was cordoned off, with residents told to keep windows and doors shut to avoid thick smoke.

Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident. By 4:20pm, crews were damping down the fire and conducting thorough checks to ensure every last ember was out. Operations wrapped up by 6:00pm, with plans for a safety reinspection at 7:00pm.
