Knife Attacks Rock London: Five Injured in Three Days
London has been rocked by a string of violent knife attacks over just three days, leaving five victims injured across three separate incidents. The spike in stabbings has reignited fears about knife crime sweeping the capital.
Stabbing in Lower Clapton Sends Man to Hospital
The violence kicked off on Saturday, 22 February, at 6:11pm in Lower Clapton. Police rushed to Evering Road after reports of a stabbing. Officers found a man with a stab wound to his arm.
The victim was hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries. No arrests have been made yet as police continue their enquiries.
Triple Stabbing Shakes Marylebone
The following morning, Sunday, 23 February, a savage knife attack in Marylebone left three men stabbed. Police arrived at a property on Portland Place shortly after 7am.
Four men were hospitalised, three with stab wounds, all thankfully non-life-threatening. Police swiftly arrested three men:
- One on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and possession with intent to supply drugs.
- Another for GBH.
- A third suspected of drug supply offences.
Investigators believe the attack is linked to drug-related activity and the probe is ongoing.
Knife Attack Near Stoke Newington School Leaves Man Seriously Hurt
The worst incident came on Monday, 24 February, at 1:05pm, outside a primary school on Oldhill Street, Stoke Newington. A 54-year-old man was stabbed and rushed to hospital with life-changing, though non-life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested a 49-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. No pupils were harmed, but the attack near a school has sparked outrage among parents.
Police and Locals Demand Action
The Metropolitan Police are investigating all three attacks and have urged witnesses to come forward. A spokesperson said:
“We understand the community’s concerns following these violent incidents and are committed to thoroughly investigating each case. Knife crime remains a top priority, and we urge anyone with information to assist us in bringing those responsible to justice.”
Local residents are alarmed by the violence. Stoke Newington parent Sarah Mitchell said:
“It’s terrifying to think that something like this could happen so close to a school. We need to feel safe in our neighbourhoods.”
