Four Jewish Community Ambulances Torched in Golders Green Arson Attack
Police have launched a hate crime investigation after four Hatzalah ambulances were deliberately set on fire in Golders Green. The attack is being treated as an antisemitic arson.
Blaze Erupts in the Early Hours
Just before 2am on Monday, March 23, the London Fire Brigade rushed to Highfield Road after reports of multiple vehicles ablaze. Officers found four ambulances engulfed in flames. Nearby homes were evacuated and roads shut down while firefighters battled the fire. Thankfully, nobody was hurt.
Explosions heard at the scene are thought to have come from gas canisters stored inside the emergency vehicles.
Police Seek Three Suspects Amid Community Fear
Superintendent Sarah Jackson, leading the investigation, said:
“This incident will cause a great deal of community concern and officers remain on scene to carry out urgent enquiries. We are examining CCTV footage and are aware of online videos. At this stage, we believe three suspects are involved.”
She added:
“No arrests have been made yet. We urge anyone with information to come forward, anonymously if preferred. We’re working closely with faith leaders and boosting patrols to reassure the community.”
