Blaze Tears Through Ilford Home – Firefighters Rescue Trapped Men

Firefighters raced to a fierce blaze in Vine Gardens, Ilford, after six frantic emergency calls flooded in starting at 2:48pm today (October 9).

Four fire engines and 25 brave firefighters from Ilford, Dagenham, and Plaistow battled the raging fire that gutted half the ground floor and parts of the first floor.

Heroic Rescue from First-Floor Window

In a nail-biting rescue, crews used an extension ladder to save a man trapped at a first-floor window. Another man was dragged to safety from the ground floor by firefighters wearing breathing gear.

Smoke Inhalation Victims Rushed to Hospital

  • Two men were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation.
  • Two more people received treatment at the scene.

The fire was finally brought under control by 4:20pm. Authorities have launched a full investigation to find out what sparked the deadly blaze.
