Police have arrested four people following a violent altercation in Harold Hill, Romford, that left two women injured and a residential road sealed off.

Emergency services were called to Whitchurch Road at 11.32am on Saturday, 28 June, after receiving reports of a disturbance involving multiple people.

Upon arrival, officers found two women, one in her 30s and another in her 50s, with injuries. Both were taken to hospital for treatment. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Four Arrested at the Scene

Following initial investigations, four individuals were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and affray:

  • A man in his 60s
  • A man in his 30s
  • Two women in their 30s

They remain in police custody while enquiries continue.

Whitchurch Road was temporarily closed while emergency services dealt with the incident, but it has since reopened.

Police Statement

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:

“We believe this was an isolated incident. Officers attended and two women, aged in their 50s and 30s, were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.”

“Four people – a man in his 60s, a man in his 30s and two women in their 30s – were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and affray.”
