Emergency Recall: Flogas pulls Butane Cylinders over serious fire risk
Danger in Your Garage: Flogas Butane Cylinders Recalled
Flogas has launched an urgent recall of certain Butane Cylinders sold between 6th and 22nd November 2024. If you bought yours in East Anglia, East Midlands, the Home Counties or the South East, stop using it now. The company warns these cylinders pose a significant fire risk.
Where You Could Be at Risk
The dodgy batch was sold at major outlets like B&Q, B&M, Homebase, and local gas dealers in the affected regions. If you snapped up a 4.5kg, 7kg, or 13kg Flogas Butane Cylinder within the sale dates, you’re urged to act fast.
What’s Wrong With the Cylinders?
These cylinders contain a dangerous mix of butane and propane not meeting the BS4250 safety standards. This causes a higher vapour pressure inside, drastically increasing the chance of a fire or explosion.
What You Must Do Now
- Stop using the cylinder immediately.
- If connected, carefully disconnect it straight away.
- Store the cylinder outdoors if you can. If indoors, keep it well away from heat.
- Contact Flogas for a free replacement and collection.

“We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience and stress caused,” said a Flogas spokesperson. “Safety is our top priority. We urge all customers in the affected areas to check their cylinders immediately and follow the recall instructions.”
This recall is a stark reminder: always stay alert when handling gas cylinders. If you suspect you have one from the faulty batch, don’t delay. Act now to avoid a dangerous fire hazard.
