Police Car Crashes on A2 While Racing to Emergency
Just after midnight on Sunday, May 26, 2024, disaster struck on the A2 London Road. A police officer speeding with sirens blaring in a marked patrol car collided with a white Ford Focus. The crash happened at 12.37am while the officer was responding to an urgent call.
Drink-Drive Suspect Arrested After Early Morning Smash
Both the officer and the two people in the Ford Focus suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Ford, a 39-year-old local man, was promptly arrested on suspicion of drink driving. He has since been bailed, with further investigation ongoing.
