Police Release Image in Shocking Sevenoaks Sexual Assault Case
A disturbing sexual assault incident in Sevenoaks has prompted police to issue a computer-generated image of the suspect. The attack occurred in broad daylight on Wednesday, 23 September 2020.
Woman Tricked Into Van by Man Claiming Child Emergency
Around midday, a woman walking along Bradbourne Vale Road was stopped by a man asking for help with an ill child. The woman followed him to St John’s Road, where a white van with a silver, tarnished roof rack stood waiting with its side door open.
The man then allegedly pushed her into the back of the van, climbed in after her, shut the door, and carried out an indecent act. The victim escaped once the door was opened.
Suspect Description and Police Appeal
- White male, mid-40s
- Approx. 5ft 8ins, stocky build
- Receding shaved hair, stubble
- Wearing green and blue T-shirt with black emblem
- Baggy faded jeans with a hole in one knee, trainers
Detective Inspector Matt Burdekin of the Tonbridge Vulnerability Investigation Team urged anyone who recognises the man or was near the area to come forward. He also called on motorists to check dashcam footage and residents to review CCTV or doorbell cameras.
“We would like to hear from anyone who might recognise the man pictured in the computer generated image or anybody who was in the area at the time of the incident who has not yet spoken to the police,” DI Burdekin said.
