Thieves Snatch Lifesaving Gear from London Ambulance Van

Life-saving medical kit has been pinched from a London Ambulance Service rapid response vehicle in broad daylight — or more accurately, overnight. The van was parked at the Canning Town ambulance depot when thieves smashed a window and made off with vital equipment.

Rapid Response Vehicle Out of Action

The van was based at the 1 Ambulance Service’s Cody Road premises. A spokesman expressed anger and disappointment at the brazen theft. “We are very disappointed that one of our response cars was damaged and items stolen from it in the car park of one of our offices in east London overnight,” he said.

Repairs will keep the vehicle off the road, leaving emergency planning officers one vehicle lighter when responding to major incidents. “The items stolen are vital pieces of medical equipment,” confirmed the spokesman.

Police Hunt Thieves, No Arrests Yet
