A serving police officer was stunned when he was attacked without warning on Brighton Road, Sutton, at around 12.20pm today. The officer was on duty at the time of the shocking assault.

Police have arrested a 52-year-old man on suspicion of causing GBH. The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
