East Grinstead Train Chaos: MP Takes Action!

On Wednesday 28th September, Mims Davies MP confronted angry commuters at East Grinstead station over the endless cancellations and shoddy train services wrecking their daily journey.

MP Demands Government Steps In

Mims has fired off a letter to the Secretary of State for Transport, begging for an urgent meeting. She wants answers on how they’ll fix the mess for East Grinstead and the wider Mid Sussex area. Her top priority? Holding Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) to account and making sure reliable trains run from the station.

Transport Dept Responds with Promises

Rail Minister Kevin Foster has since updated Mims. The Department for Transport has ordered GTR to reshuffle its services to better match what passengers actually need going forward.

Extra Trains Coming This December

  • Two new Thameslink peak services launching December 2022
  • Trains at 06:44 and 07:44 from East Grinstead, and 17:10 and 17:40 from London Bridge
  • Half-hourly service during morning and evening rush hours

Plus, the Minister has promised to meet with Mims soon to discuss ongoing issues.

Mims vows to keep residents in the loop as she fights for better trains and smoother journeys.
