Murder probe launched after woman found dead in Waterlooville home

Hampshire and Isle of Wight police have opened a murder investigation after a woman’s body was discovered in a house on Nevinson Way, Waterlooville. Officers were called to the scene just before midday on December 28, 2023.

Man arrested after woman found dead

At the scene, police found the lifeless body of a 37-year-old woman. A 36-year-old man was also there with arm injuries. He was treated and arrested on suspicion of murder.

The woman’s family have been informed, and the suspect remains in custody for questioning by detectives.

Police hunt for witnesses and footage

Officers swarmed Nevinson Way, speaking to neighbours and checking doorbell cameras for any clues. The investigation continues as specialised teams comb the area.

Community reassured amid ongoing probe

Chief Inspector Habib Rahman called the killing “a concerning incident for the local community” but stressed there is “no apparent risk to public safety.”

“The Neighbourhood Policing Team will be carrying out regular patrols in the area, and anyone with questions or concerns can speak to these uniformed officers,” Rahman said.
