Woman, 30, Found Dead in Croydon – Murder Probe Launched
A 30-year-old woman was found dead at a Croydon home, sparking a murder investigation. Emergency services rushed to a property on Bensham Lane at around 7pm on Monday, 20 January, after reports of an unresponsive woman. Tragically, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two Men Arrested on Murder Suspicion
Police have detained two 21-year-old men on suspicion of murder. Both remain in custody as detectives continue their inquiries. Chief Superintendent Andy Brittain, who is leading the investigation, offered his condolences:
“We are saddened to hear about the loss of this young woman. We are supporting her family as they process this shocking news. At this early stage, we believe the two men were known to the woman, and there is no threat to the wider public.”
Community on Edge – Police Ramp Up Presence
The killing has shaken the local community. Chief Superintendent Brittain reassured residents that officers are working tirelessly to get answers:
“You may notice a higher police presence in the area throughout the day. Please voice any concerns to officers.”
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. If you saw anything strange or noticed anyone leaving the property, police want to hear from you:
“Did you hear anything unusual? Did you see anyone leaving the property? If you did, please do the right thing and speak with us.”
