Teen Dies After Hit-and-Run in Bromley
Police are hunting witnesses after a 16-year-old boy died following a shocking hit-and-run in Bromley.
Officers rushed to Southborough Lane at about 1.20pm on Sunday, 18 July, after reports of a crash involving a car and an e-scooter.
Driver Flees Scene, Later Caught
The teenager, who was riding the e-scooter, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a central London hospital where he sadly passed away.
The driver of the red Fiat Punto sped off and left the scene. The car was found hours later abandoned in Southwood Close, Bromley.
A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop, and driving under the influence. He remains in custody.
Missing E-Scooter and Mysterious Car Sought
Police are also investigating the disappearance of the e-scooter, believed stolen from the crash site.
Witnesses reported seeing a dark-coloured people carrier with a sliding door in the area. Officers want to speak to anyone who knows about this vehicle or its occupants.
