Tragic Fatal Crash on A85 Claims Lives of Fife Couple

Martin Cousland, 70, and his wife Josephine “Jo” Cousland, 69, from Anstruther, Fife, were killed outright in a smash on the A85 in Argyll. Their red Audi Q2 collided with a grey Ford Mondeo near Arrivain and Dalmally around 2 pm on Friday, 31 March 2023.

Couple Die at Scene, Loved Ones Notified

The couple suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Police have informed their family.

Three Other Men Hurt, in Stable Condition

The three male passengers in the Ford Mondeo were rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. Medical staff say their condition is stable.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dash-Cam Footage

Sergeant Archie McGuire, Roads Policing Unit in Campbeltown, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr and Mrs Cousland. We are continuing our inquiries and urge anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage to come forward.”

Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1923 from 31 March 2023.

A full report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
