Teen Boy Missing in West Midlands Reservoir: Major Rescue Underway
The West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) has launched a major operation at Lodge Farm Reservoir, Highbridge Road, Netherton. A teenage boy was reported missing in the water since the previous evening, sparking urgent rescue efforts.
Full Emergency Response Deployed
WMAS sprung into action after receiving a call from police at 6:11 PM on July 23, 2024. Within nine minutes, three ambulances, two paramedic officers, and the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were on scene.
A WMAS spokeswoman confirmed, “HART paramedics were immediately deployed into the water to assist other emergency services in the search operations.”
Overnight Search and Medical Aid at Scene
The rescue continued throughout the night, coordinated by an incident commander working closely with police and fire services. Meanwhile, a young girl with an existing health issue who was at the scene received emergency care and was discharged shortly after.
Public Told to Steer Clear as Search Continues
WMAS has urged the public to avoid the area to allow emergency teams full access and keep operations running smoothly. They thanked local residents for their cooperation and offered sympathy, saying, “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the teenage boy during this distressing time.”
The search and rescue mission is ongoing. Further updates will follow as efforts continue to locate the missing boy.
